Since I'm an avid iphone user, my sister shared a couple of apps that should be useful for my journey - MyFitnessPal and Yummly; I found Pacer while digging around MyFitnessPal. Before I go into all that, here's a snapshot of my Health apps :D
Really not much to see since I'm not much of a health-ful nor health-y person :p
Now, going back:) MyFitnessPal helps you list all of your meals and then computes your caloric intake for the day. What I enjoy most about this app is that there are search results for Pinoy food! When adding food, there is also an option to "quickly add calories" or "create food" if you couldn't find it listed in the results. My sister can also view anything I'm logging because there's a sharing/public profile option which you could activate.
While exploring the app's other features, I found Pacer, a pedometer app that converts steps into calories and "adds" to my daily allowance. On the screenshot below, you can see a section on Exercise: that's Pacer's contribution to my MyFitnessPal.
I consider myself a home cook. What I'm sure I lack in technique, I make up for in flavor. This is where Yummly comes in. Just by entering 2 or 3 ingredients, I can filter through dozens of recipes on the web, complete with number of servings and calories. This detail especially useful for me. Only downside I think is that you always have to be online.
Why do I think the world (uh, no. I think maybe just the continent) of Yummly? Because some of the recipes I get there are from fellow home cooks. The fact that it's also not hard to navigate is a plus :)
So do I feel that I've lost weight yet? Not really, but friends at work have told me that my pants are getting loose. Then again, they're my friends :)) tr
